JAZZIE: A JOURNEY TOWARDS CHANGE

Talk Time with Jazzie

Anthonieta Kalunta

 Sharing the power of hope

In a world filled with pessimism and negativity it is rather almost unmanageable to stay positive and optimistic all the time. Due to this reason, many people have incurred manipulative and exploitative means to find their way through life. This act can be rather daunting to those who are passive and gullible as they can fall victims to these manipulations and exploitations easily. However, there are individuals who are greatly doing all they can to make sure no one is cheated or exploited; through art and other creative forms.

Standing for something

One of such personality is Anthonieta Kalunta (also known as Jazzie); a presenter, actress, model and an unrepentant change instigator, once you meet her it’s not hard to spot her strong pro women and children ideologies that some may perceive to be feministic. A very opinionated woman who’s not afraid to shake the tables to get her views across and no doubt the young lady has being doing so through her Insta Vlog called: TTWJ.

Sharing the knowledge

In her own words Jazzie explained that TTWJ stands for Talk Time with Jazzie and is a platform on which i dish out my opinions, advice, research and concerns on various contemporary issues especially as it relates to women and children. TTWJ seeks to empower, motivate and celebrate women in all walks of life. TTWJ seeks to ensure that women learn to move on from past hurt, learn from mistakes and the experiences of others and also I try to teach every woman (from research, personal experience and the experiences of others) how to be the best she can be at every phase in her life.’’ TTWJ has and is still helping many women to step out of depression and to realize their true value.

Chasing the vision

The visionarist admitted that; she’s helping and giving advices to friends, course mate’s family and others even before the launch of TTWJ VLOG.  Though it has not been rosy all the while, Jazzie admitted that she feels her message is timely but has not been receiving the positive vibes it should. Ranging from limited views to audience feedback, which she would love to know; Notwithstanding, Miss Kalunta holds a vision and she puts it this way:  My vision is for TTWJ to go on Tv and begin to reach out to more women and then start to go to communities for development work as this dream was spurred from my experience in theatre for development in communities in northern Nigeria.  I want a Nigeria where every woman knows she "CAN" and if ever she doesn't, it wouldn't be because she's a woman.  Then I can beat my chest and say I was part of those who brought this change. Well its obvious that there is a lot to fetch from the depths of Jazzie.
