She said: “don’t wait for opportunity come, go out and hunt it”. So, for the past years, the young entrepreneur has been chasing her opportunities with passion and alertness. Growing up in Zaria, Kaduna state Nigeria, Hauwa admitted that she had always admired stylish and stunning materials that are made by Africans for Africans. Thus, when the opportunity came for her to choose her own wears, it was as easy as ABC; she simply went for traditional outfits that are visually appealing.

Today, Hauwa is into marketing her passion, and owns the Ummi Salmah's Trendy: which the deals with sales of all sorts materials, inclusive of:  Laces, shadda, Ankara, veils and even more. One good thing that separates her from others who are into similar business, is the passion she puts into hers. Providing quality, affordable materials with an aim to provide better and accessible outfits for people of all classes in the society. Her price ranges from N50, 000 (maximum) and N5, 000 (minimum).  With her business based in Abuja, Nigeria, she is always ready to supply materials anywhere the demand arises.
